Ristorante Pizzeria Molino
New Flavours From an Old Favourite
Ristorante Pizzeria Molino has been bringing Italian flavours to Switzerland ever since it opened its first restaurant 33 years ago. Since 1988, the once petit pizzeria in Uster has grown into a major business of 19 restaurants and became a well-established brand of the Swiss gastro scene. So much so that having your first pizza in a Molino restaurant has almost become a rite of passage for newcomers to Zurich. The brand is now ready to celebrate the return to normality on the restaurant scene, with a menu full of delicious new offerings.
New Apéro experience – Mini-Pizzas and Franciacorta Sparkling Wine
Molino is diving into the summer season with stylishly refurbished bars oozing Milanese chic in several of its restaurants to take your apéro experience to the next level. Besides the heavenly burrata and the beloved focaccias, the new bar menu features delicious mini-pizzas, so called pizzettes, topped with home-made sauces and fresh seasonal vegetables.
Both the classic and the new snacks pair wonderfully with Molino’s Ca’ del Bosco Cuvée Prestige Franciacorta. Franciacorta is an unsung sparkling wine which is often eclipsed by everyone’s comfort bubbly the prosecco. Made by using the same method and grapes as France’s exquisite Champagne, Franciacorta is a superb, wallet-friendly alternative to its often-pricey French cousin.
The award-winning Franciacorta of Molino comes from the sunny shores of Lake Iseo in Lombardy, and it’s sold both by the glass and the bottle at Molino. Whether you are a Franciacorta lover already, or a curious Champagne-fan open for a new experience, enjoying a nicely chilled glass of Ca’ del Bosco Cuvée Prestige on one of Molino’s sun-drenched terraces is wholeheartedly recommended.
Exclusive Italian White Wine Only at Molino restaurants
Besides the bubbly delights of Franciacorta, Molino has yet another surprise for wine lovers. The restaurant chain has teamed up with the Collazzi Winery from Central Tuscany to bring a true wine rarity to the Swiss tables for the summer of 2021.
Whilst Tuscany is best known for its blockbuster red wines, the whites of the region have their own delicious world to discover. Collazzi’s wine expert Alberto Torelli created Panorama d’Oro following the blueprint of the popular Super Tuscan red wines, blending together a selections of newly introduced grape varieties in Tuscany.
In the Panorama d’Oro the complex mineral flavours of the ancient Fiano variety from Southern Italy blends beautifully with the smoothness of the Chardonnay, creating a sophisticated yet refreshing white wine that is just as perfect as a standalone aperitif on a hot summer day or as a wonderful accompaniment to pizzas or lighter pasta dishes.
Sipping on Collazzi’s Panorama d’Oro in the heat of summer is a truly wonderful experience. This limited-edition wine was exclusively developed for Molino and can’t be found anywhere else in Switzerland, Italy or worldwide.
Hand-made Fresh Pastas and Pizzas
If you don’t have an Italian grandmother nearby, Molino is an excellent choice for treating yourself to delicious fresh pastas. In the true tradition of Italian craftsmanship, Molino produces hand-made tagliatelle and tortelloni pasta in the restaurants’ kitchens daily.
Good things take time and the old saying rings especially true for Molino’s beloved pizzas. Made of a special flour mixture, the pizza dough rests in cooled vaults for 48-hours before getting baked to perfection in the restaurants’ ovens. It’s exactly this “siesta time” that makes the irresistible dough so fluffy, light and easy to digest. Choose from one of the pre-set pizzas (our all-time favorite is Pizza Miss Italia) or assemble your own from the base to the top in any of Molino’s 19 restaurants.
Chef’s Choice – Balanced Pasta Dishes with Fresh, Seasonal Ingredients
Those aspiring for a summer body should no longer compromise a hole on their belt for a plate of their beloved pasta. Molino is introducing a new and exciting section to their menu called the “Chef’s Choice” or the “Proposta dello Chef” where light, Mediterranean flavours and fresh seasonal vegetables take center stage.
The menu of the “Chef’s Choice” changes monthly and features traditional Italian pasta dishes reimagined with a modern twist. While the vegetarian dishes were developed with today’s heath and environmentally conscious food trends in mind, meat lovers can order matching meat or fish extras as per their convenience at any time. As a visual reflection of the menu’s forward-looking concept, Molino’s new creations are served in beautifully crafted, hand-made green bowls and plates.
Long Opening Hours 365 days & Take-Away & Home Delivery
With the easing of the lockdown restrictions Molino’s standard opening hours are back to normal, making the restaurants an extremely handy choice for eating out on a Sunday or a Monday when many restaurants tend to be closed. Late diners will appreciate Molino’s longer-than-usual opening hours until 11pm, 365 days a year.
Those preferring to enjoy Molino dishes as take-aways can benefit from 15% off from regular, in-restaurant prices. As a welcome remnant of the lockdown, the option of home delivery continues via Just Eat.
Ristorante Pizzeria Molino Restaurants
Molino’s 19 restaurants are spread across the French and German-speaking parts of Switzerland. Check the Ristorante Pizzeria Molino website for addresses, opening hours or for booking table. Buon appetito!
