Auswärts Daheim is a new venture made up of a team of young enthusiastic foodies which include the chefs, Nenad Mlinarevic and Valentin Diem of Bauernschänke Restaurant together with Ursina Widmer and Fanny Eisl.
Concept of Ready Prepared Gourmet Meals Sous Vide
The concept is that they deliver (or you can pick up) gourmet ” ready-to-cook” dishes prepared by Nenad, who previously worked at the Michelin starred Restaurant at the Park Hotel Vitznau and was Swiss Chef of the Year in 2016. The delicious dishes are all ready prepared vacuum packed “sous vide” and all you need to do is finish off the cooking in the comfort of your own home and serve!
All Packages Come With Full Instructions
The beauty is that each item comes individually wrapped in its own packaging with full instructions on what you need to do. Not only that but there is a label with a full description telling you if the item is, vegan, vegetarian etc and how long it will keep for. Many of the items will keep for a quite a few days so you can also plan in advance.
The beauty is that you have everything you need for a delicious meal with full instructions so that you just can’t go wrong. Foolproof! We tried out a dinner for two and not only was it super simple to follow the instructions but it tasted divine!
For starters we had Black tiger Prawns in a Lemongrass and Chilli Marinade. All we had to do was snip the vacuum packaging open and pour the contents into a pan and gently heat through.
We also had a mini Sourdough loaf to accompany the prawns and for that we we simply heated the oven to 220degrees and popped the bread in for 10 minutes.
It was a delicious combination and the sauce with the prawn was amazing.
Next we had veal spare ribs, accompanied by potatoes which had came in a package with a thyme, melted onion and butter sauce and giant Spring Onions which came all prepared vacuum packed “sous vide” in rapeseed oil. Again the instructions were easy to follow.
We popped the spare ribs in the oven at 250 degrees for 10 – 15 minutes, we placed the potatoes in a pan and gently heated them up until they were slightly golden brown and the spring onions went in a frying pan until they are gently browned too.
There was also a delicious Lemon flavoured Labneh sauce to serve with the vegetables.
All in all it’s a really great way of having high quality, well sourced food, beautifully prepared, in the comfort of your own home. All the instructions were easy to follow, every dish turned out perfectly and was delicious and flavourful. We highly recommend this as a great way to have a wonderful restaurant experience at home.
