Steak Restaurant Opens in Zurich
If you’re a meat lover you may well have heard of Williams Butchers Table Restaurants. There is one in Hegibachplatz in Zurich and another in Bern. Each of the restaurants specialise in serving top quality meat for the discerning carnivore.
They have now just opened their third “Gastrobaby” in Schifflände, Zurich just a few minutes walk from Bellevue. This emporium of all things meat is located in a townhouse on two floors and designed in the style of the swinging twenties. It’s an urban restaurant where the focus is plainly on top quality meat. Inside the restaurant there is also a butcher’s counter with a head butcher personally supervising everything to ensure that meat lovers can not only dine well in the at William Butchers Table, but they can also buy high quality meat to take home and cook another time.
They operate in cooperation with their partner LUMA meats, offering a range of top quality sustainable meat specialties. Co-owner and wine producer Daniel Caro provides another important offering – exquisite wines to complement the culinary offerings!
We went to the pre-opening of the restaurant and were lucky enough to enjoy some delicious cuts. We sampled a little of most dishes on the menu from the cold cuts, the house sausage, beef tartare, their hamburger and even bone marrow. For the main course we tried some delicious steak and Luma pork. My very favourite and a top tip is to try the “skirt” cut (pictured just below) – it is really tender and tastes divine!
All the dishes were beautifully presented and beautifully cooked. We had great service and although we had no room to try desert, there was a very tempting list on offer.
You can see that everyone at Williams ButcherTable is passionate about high quality meat, beautifully cooked. And if you are too, this is definitely a restaurant you will want to visit!
