Lunch at L’Amant Brasserie & Bar Sihlcity
“L’Amant” Restaurant is located in the heart of Silhlcity shopping centre at the Four Points Hotel. The restaurant, Which means “the Lover” in English, is named after the novel by the Vietnamese-born French writer, Marguerite Duras.
The story is reflected in the cuisine as L’Amant specialises in a fusion of tasty French and Asian dishes which can be enjoyed in the light, bright casual setting of the brasserie.
After an aperitif of a glass of the house crémant and a glass of the beautifully coloured non alcoholic lavender lemonade, we tried out their new lunch menu which offers a selection of freshly prepared dishes for a fixed price. The Lunch Menu is good value or Zurich offering 2 dishes for CHF 34 and 3 dishes for CHF 39.
The day we were there you could choose from starters of Pulled Beef Bao Bun with ginger, spring onions, cashew and coriander, or a vegetarian option, the Celery and Apple Soup.
For mains the choice was between a Braised Pork Roast with green beans, potatoes and herbs or Panang Prawn Curry with Jasmine rice, pak choi, coconut and chilli. The vegetarian choice was a Pea Risotto with Swiss Belper Knolle cheese, peas, spring onions, rocket and pine nuts. Of course, if you prefer to choose from the à la carte menu you can do that too.
To start I chose the Papaya salad from the À La Carte menu which is one of the restaurant’s most popular dishes. It was light, fresh, crispy and crunchy and totally delicious. If you prefer you can have it with chicken added too. Our other starter was the Pulled Beef Bao Bun which was also pronounced very tasty.
For the main course I chose Panang Curry with prawns. It was beautifully presented and very colourful and was served along with a small bowl of rice. The curry was delicious – full of flavour and with quite a nice spicy kick to it too.
My companion really enjoyed burger which was served with a generous portion of fries.
We really enjoyed our delicious lunch with friendly service in the comfortable and relaxed Brasserie. It’s very easy to get to and reachable by both tram and train and is located right next to the Sihlicity shopping centre. If you can’t make lunch, L’Amant are also open for dinner and for a take away breakfast too.
So next time you’re looking for a great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner why not pop by to L’Amant in Sihlcity?
