Lunch On the Rooftop at La Mūna –
La Reserve Eden Au Lac Zurich
Eating al fresco in Zurich is wonderful in the Summer months, but one thing which is even better, is eating outdoors with a beautiful view. La Mūna Restaurant at La Réserve Eden Au Lac has probably one of the best views in Zurich and not one, but two terraces from which you can enjoy it.
Located in the newly opened La Réserve Eden au Lac, under the Michel Reybier brand, the spectacular view stretches right across the city, the lake and the mountains beyond. After a huge renovation the former Hotel Eden au Lac on Utoquai reopened in January 2020, restyled in a most luxurious and stylish way. A glass elevator takes you to the top floor where you enter La Mūna Restaurant. You step into a beautifully decorated dining space with lots of wood and you can really sense the maritime vibe and the “yacht club feel” to it. The main area is decorated with comfortable and stylish furniture by Philippe Starck and is really stunning.
The open kitchen is adorned with bright red ceramic tiles and it is here that chef Japanese chef Miya Gunji creates her delicious Peruvian-Japanese inspired dishes. To each side there is a doorway taking you onto one of the two balconies.
The Food at La Muña
The concept here is small “sharing dishes” and the Japanese-Peruvian cuisine is light and fresh and full of flavour. For two people our waiter recommended 5 or 6 plates so we chose a mixture of both cold and hot dishes. Selecting what to choose is difficult as there are so many tempting options – and literally everything we tried was great!
There is a long list of cocktails to choose from too, but we chose a glass of Michel Reybier champagne which we enjoyed along with some edamame before the rest of the dishes arrived.

It was all simply fabulous but if you press me my absolute favourites have to be the Marinated Aubergines, the Black Cod with Miso, and the Salmon Tartare on crispy rice.
There is also a nice selection of desserts and we chose the chocolate and ginger tart with tonka bean ice cream (above) – and yes it did taste as good as it looks!
The lunch was really totally delicious and we had excellent service from our waiter Clemens. With the views, the yacht-like feel to the location and the sun shining, this is the closest you can get to feeling like being on holiday in Zurich even when you’re not! 🙂 I really can’t wait to go back!
Restaurant Eden Kitchen & Bar
In addition to La Mūna it is good to know that the hotel also has the Eden Kitchen & Bar on the ground floor which is also super stylish and which specialises in Italian cuisine and is a great place for families with children.
