Pasta Making Workshop
at Herbs Pasta and Bar Zurich
Right in the heart of Zurich there is a fabulous pasta restaurant where you can enjoy exquisite and authentic Italian pasta! Not only are the staff exceptionally friendly and totally passionate about what they are serving their guests, but they actually import the pasta from a small village close to Venice in Italy. Small details which give their recipes such a truly authentic Italian taste. Yes, fresh ingredients and seasonal herbs are a must for this restaurant which even has its own rooftop Herb Garden.
I was lucky enough to to take part in a Pasta Making Workshop with Francesco, the pasta-maker himself! Together we created some light and seasonal Tortelloni.
Steps in making a delicious pasta creation:
1. Knead: Flour and Eggs
2. Create the Filling: Buratta, Zucchini and Zucchini Flower
3. Pasta Roll: flatten dough
4. Cut and fill the dough
The finished product! (only to be placed in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes)

Tuna, Tomato, Coriander Tartar
A delicious combination of tuna, a sweet and sour yuzu-ponzu-sauce with mango foam on the side to tie the masterpiece together. Next up was pasta!
4 Pasta Dishes to Share
Lobster Ravioli, Veal Ravioli, Spinach+Ricotta Tortellini, as well as the dish we created!
Each delectable pasta dish had a side of sauce to choose from including the classic (and delicious) tomato sauce, cherry tomato and basil sauce and a fresh green pesto sauce.
Honestly, the pastas were so amazing on their own, that I found the sauces an extra bonus – not even needed! And of course, no Italian dinner can end without a wonderful Tiramisu with a pomegranate twist!
Overall, an extravagant evening with great company, a wonderful atmosphere, and a menu that will make you want to go back again – and especially to try the Chorizo Carbonara Pasta – their signature dish!
