Weekend Brunch at Urban Fork Zurich

Urban Fork is a cute little restaurant located in Zurich’s vibrant Kreis 5, a short walk or tram ride from Zurich main station. With a friendly, welcoming and laid back vibe, the restaurant is run by Mike of the Fork and Bottle in Brunau and Jason is the manager. Urban Fork is Fork and Bottle’s little brother, more compact and more urban. The team pride themselves on coking in as sustainable a way as possible, using high quality and local ingredients.

Saturday & Sunday Brunch!

We visited for Brunch on a Sunday but it’s good to know that Urban Fork is one of the relatively few places in Zurich where you can also have brunch on a Saturday. This is something that is not as common as you would expect in Zurich – so it’s good to know!

Egg Benedicts

The menu offers a great selection of delicious brunch options with everything from Bagels and Muesli to Egg Benedicts and even a Full English Cooked Breakfast if you so wish. We went for the Egg Benedict with Avocado and Salmon and the Avocado Smash with Feta, Poached Egg and lemon and seeds.  The poached eggs were cooked to perfection and on top of the endless variations on offer, you can further customise them with a selection of brunch add ons.

We also tried the pancakes with blueberries which were light and fluffy and delicious – but they are giant!!! – so do be aware! In fact all the portions are a generous size and everything was well cooked and tasted delicious.

Instead of pancakes, we were also toying with the idea of waffles as they looked delicious – but we will have to try them another day!

It was busy with families and groups of friends the day we visited but despite that, both Jason and Emma looked after us really well and we enjoyed the relaxed and enjoyable brunch with re-orders of coffee delivered promptly and with a smile.

In Summer or in warm weather there is seating on the pavement outside, surrounded by flowers and foliage.

All in all Urban Fork is a down to earth and very friendly restaurant and it’s the perfect place for Sunday Brunch comfort food with family or friends. Definitely one to come back to!
