Impressions of Art Basel 2018
14th – 17th June
Art Basel takes place at the Messe in Basel from 14th – 17th June 2018. With 290 of the world’s leading galleries showcasing the work of over 4,000 artists it really is a hub of artistic activity.
It is an important fixture in the Swiss calendar and brings together international artwork from all over the world to the city of Basel for just over four days.
There’s a full program of events each day and there are also plenty of cultural activities taking place all over Basel (like Rhy Art for example) and the surrounding area.
People come from all over to see and to be seen. In fact if you like both art and “people watching” you will probably be in heaven! People turn up in wacky outfits, hats, shoes and crazy accessories – it’s all part of the scene. As well as paintings there are a number of art installations and sculptures too.
We were lucky enough to go to the Press Day for a preview viewing, where amongst everything else we met up with internationally reknowned Chinese artist Liu Bolin in the Ruinart Collector’s Lounge.
