Zoom Call with Dr Barb Paldus from Codex
Instead of face to face meetings in these Covid times, we are having more and more online Zoom meetings. The other day we had a really interesting one with Codex Beauty founder Dr. Barb Paldus to find out all about the organic skincare range from Bia of Ireland. Codex are a leading light in revolutionary plant-based skincare which comes in sustainable and airtight packaging and is certified by independent third parties to demonstrate the effectiveness of its products.
Codex – An Organic Luxury Skin Brand From Ireland
Codex is an organic luxury skin brand and Dr. Barb Paldus is a biotech entrepreneur and scientist who founded this beauty company to create a new generation of skin care products focussing on “Safe Beauty”. By safe beauty, she means using the knowledge gained through science to optimize the effectiveness of the natural ingredients, known for their skin care benefits, enabling the end user to benefit from beautifully moisturised and glowing skin, without having to resort to products packed with chemicals.
The Bia Of Ireland Discovery Set
As we drank Newby’s premium green tea with antioxidants, Barb explained all about the Bia collection, created with organic ingredients which have been used for centuries in Ireland due to their healing properties. Barb took us through the Discovery Set, which is a perfect way to discover the range. It contains small samples of the key components of the Bia of Ireland skincare products and is made up of the following:
The Exfoliating Wash – this gentle cleanser is made from Milk Thistle and Elderflower. With the exfoliating and polishing effect from the Jojoba grains it tones and cleanses.
The Eye Gel Cream – this is made using Arnica and Bladderwrack and is especially designed to help reduce under eye puffiness and dark circles around the eyes.
The Day Cream – this uses Calendula & Serrated Wrack for its key ingredients and it is a light and nourishing daily facial moisturiser. (Please note that it doesn’t include sun protection so you would need to apply that additionally).
The Skin Superfood – this is a deeply nourishing treatment cream which can be used on the face, hands and body. It is made with Codex’s special ingredient ” BiaComplex™” and is especially good for treating irritated or dry and flaky skin.
The whole package comes in an attractive Organic Cotton Travel Bag and it is all made in Ireland. If you are thinking of a more organic approach to your skincare and would like to try it out, the Discovery Set is ideal for this purpose. It would also make a lovely birthday present or gift.
