Perfect for Hiking, Walking and Anywhere
Sorel Footwear is well known amongst hikers and walkers for being practical, comfortable and super warm. The American company began creating their rugged, high quality boots back in 1962 and they’ve been popular with walkers and hikers ever since. Strong, robust, well made and good looking, they tick all the boxes.
Their latest range of boots also include a “crossover” line with their Kinetic models which are suitable for wearing all year round. Now you can wear Sorel Footwear not just in Winter, but anytime of year. And not just in the mountains either; they are suitable for all sorts of terrain from city centre to the beach!
There are a range options to choose from and the pair I was given to test is called the Kinetic Sneak (RRP CHF 169.50), seen here in caramel and sea salt, although you can also get it in black. I must say the shoes fit like a glove! Not only that, but because the rubber heel is so thick, it actually gives you a bit of height too.
The best thing though is that they are so comfortable you feel like you’re wearing slippers. You just don’t want to take them off. Another advantage is that they are light and compact. Perfect for travelling. One of the worst things about packing is trying to fit heavy or cumbersome shoes into a suitcase. The Kinetic Sneakers are so light and soft that they don’t take up much space and weigh hardly anything. Plus when you get to your destination, you can walk across airports and cities in total comfort.
Another style in the same series, pictured above, which I haven’t tried, but which looks a bit more “sporty chic”, is called the “Kinetic Short Lace Boot” (RRP CHF 189.90). It’s more rugged, insulated and waterproof and even suitable for light snow. Though of course, you can wear it anytime and anywhere, as in Sorel’s photo below.
