Sun Protection in Switzerland in Summer
With the sizzling temperatures we’ve recently been having in Zurich, sun protection is something that we should all be thinking of. After a rather rainy Spring this year, it’s so nice to embrace the sunshine that we often simply don a pair of sunglasses and head off into the sun.
Protect Your Skin From Skin Cancer
However, Switzerland does have a high rate of skin cancer and one which according to a report in Swiss Info back in 2011 has lead to a doubling in rates of the incidence of skin cancer in the country from 1981 – 2011. Some of this may be due to the use of sunbeds. However, when hiking or skiing at high altitude in the Swiss mountains, or with the reflected light from the lakes combined with the hot sunny Summers we often enjoy, good sun protection is key to avoiding skin damage and sun burn. Although this report is a few years old, it is always prudent to take care in the sun and to use reliable and quality sun care products.
Swiss line Suncare Products
Swissline have developed a range of extremely good sun care products to protect your skin from the rays and last year I tried out the SPF 35 which I really liked (see here). However, for ultimate protection for the face, I have recently been testing their Invisible Bi-Phase Veil SPF 50 PA++ . This sun cream offers fantastic sun protection and is especially designed for your face, neck and decolleté.
Super Light Formula
It is super light to go on and almost invisible. It is also ideal when swimming in the lake (or at the seaside abroad) due to the formula being water-resistant. In fact it gives your skin a slight brightening effect which offers a little extra radiance, (thanks to being enriched with licorice and an extract of the Japanese cherry tree leaf) and it is designed to prohibit sun-induced age spots.
It is free of mineral oil and alcohol and offers UVA/UVB broad-spectrum protection with added spot prevention. Simply shake the product before applying a thin layer all over your face and neck and it will simply gently soak in. It is light enough to mix into other moisturisers or skincare products, or you can simply use it on its own.
It’s not inexpensive, but is certainly a sound investment for your face. So next time you’re about to head out into the sun, don’t forget to apply your sun screen first – and do check out Swiss line’s Invisible Bi-Phase Veil SPF 50 – I’m sure you’ll love it!
