Testing the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Electric Toothbrush
I was recently sent the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Electric Toothbrush to test and over the past few weeks have been putting it though its paces. There are various versions and colours available and this one is the rose gold one which I think is probably the prettiest.
5 Cleaning Options
The key thing of course is how it cleans your teeth. The actual brush on the toothbrush seems quite a lot smaller than the previous electric toothbrush I used, but in fact it is very comfortable and most importantly seems to clean very effectively. There’s a choice of 5 modes – clean, white, polish, gum care and sensitive – so there’s easily something for everyone. I’ve been mainly using the clean mode and the sensitive mode and have found it really good, giving a very effective clean.
Apparently the brush incorporates 62,000 movements per minute and removes 10 times more plaque than a manual toothbrush! Furthermore the DiamondClean has been rated the best electric whitening toothbrush currently on the market.
Quiet Operation
The brush works using vibrations so I’ve noticed that it’s much quieter than the one I previously used and getting replacement brush heads is no problem as they are widely available.
Charging Tumbler and Charging Travel Case
It comes with a glass charging tumbler which is quite a novel idea so it means you can simply place it in the tumbler when you’ve finished using it and it charges automatically. It also comes with a very pretty practical case which is ideal for travelling. The case is fitted with a usb charger to connect to your laptop or into the mains. Another nice feature is that the toothbrushes come with their own plastic covers – but a tiny niggle is that these don’t fit in the charging case when travelling. Hopefully, Philips will rectify this in the future! The battery life is also surprisingly long and it lasts up to 3 weeks when fully charged.
Conclusion
All in all it’s a great toothbrush which delivers a thorough clean without being harsh or aggressive, yet leaves your teeth feeling really good. The 5 options give you plenty of choice and the tumbler as a charging station is both practical and easy to use and I love the travelling case with the usb as it is such a great idea.
