The other day we were invited to Café Black in Zurich for an exclusive dinner and skincare presentation to find out about a premium range of skincare by LIERAC Laboratories, aptly named “LIERAC Premium” which is now available in Switzerland. We are already big fans of Lierac having tried the tried the “Magnificence” range (and we adore the Lierac Magnificence serum) so we were keen to find out more about this range.
Cafe Black Zurich
Café Black was the venue chosen for the launch and it is one of the oldest cafes in Zurich. It was established in the seventies by an Italian who wanted to bring a touch of Italy to Zurich with his own freshly squeezed orange juice, Italian sandwiches and excellent coffee. The design is dark black with gold and harks back to the 70s and therefore it was fitting that Lierac chose this venue – as the topic was all about ageing – and in this case, ageing skin and how to prevent it.
Black and Gold – but More Than Skin Deep
In its black and gold packaging the Lierac products looks sleek and refined – but it’s not just the packaging which is good – the product inside is the result of years of clinical trials and research. The scientists at Lierac have been looking into regenerative medicine with the aim of creating a new generation of exceptional anti-aging care.
In studying stem cell research they have learnt more about cell growth processes of skin and in particular the FOXO protein (forkhead box) which plays a key role in the new formation of tissue and it is nicknamed the “protein of longevity”. LIERAC has developed a new and unique combination of active ingredients which boost the function of the FOXO protein in the skin with the Premium Cellular Complex.
Wendy Stranges, (above), Commercial Manager, Beauty Brands at Lierac told us what makes the products work is the unique combination of active ingredients in the Lierac Premium range: Hextapeptide (to control the stem cells and guarantee cell regeneration), terpenoid (a bio-mimetic active substance which reprograms the skin’s repair mechanisms) and extracts of rare, black flowers which provide protection and balance the skin barrier.
The Verdict
We are not scientists or dermatologists, so what interested us most was what the products are actually like to use. Carmen has been testing the CREAM SOYEUSE, MASQUE SUPREME and PREMIUM YEUX and she says: “they are easy to apply, non-greasy and blend in easily. I love the subtle smell when I apply them on my skin. Also, I like the luxury feel which begins with the packaging. The cream comes in a matte black lacquered jar with a golden lid and, in the original box there is a satin black pouch in which the cream can be kept and a spatula so that each application is safe and hygienic”.
Carmen says that already after testing for a month, she thinks the appearance of her skin has improved substantially. Her favourite product is the PREMIUM YEUX anti-aging eye cream which has helped with under-eye puffiness and has been amazing in reducing dark circles under the eyes.
