What’s On in Zurich End of April 2026

Wishing you a great weekend and week ahead! Don’t forget Friday 1st May is a public holiday in Zurich – see more details here. Spring is in the air in Zurich, there is still lots of blossom, Sechselauten may be over but the Ferris wheel is still up at Bürkliplatz and somehow the Böögg is still managing to drive the Spring Märlitram round the city until 26th April (despite having been burnt to smithereens last Monday!!!) At least with a burning time of 12 minutes 48 seconds the prognosis is for a good summer! The Zurich Bier Festival is on today 24th & 25th April and the Tina Turner musical continues until 3rd May. In the Botanical Garden the Spring Festival is taking place on 26th April and it’s your last chance to see the beautiful Breathe with Pilatus art installation until 26th too. ZÜRICH BEER FESTIVAL 24th –25th APRIL: Beer people, this is your Super Bowl. Two days, one mission: hop-heavy happiness at Theater Spirgarten. Expect craft, classics and beers from all your favourite breweries around the world. Hydrate strategically! See all the details here.

HARD TRANCE EUROPE – 25th APRIL: After stops in the UK, Ibiza, Malta and Rotterdam, the Swiss edition of Hard Trance Europe lands at Alte Kaserne this Saturday. BOTANICAL GARDEN ZUIRCH SPRING FESTIVAL 26th APRIL: Taking place from 11am till 5pm, this spring festival offers a plant sale featuring perennials, herbs and seedlings, alongside information stands on edible wild plants from Switzerland and the Mediterranean. There will be a varied programme with short guided tours, children’s activities, insights into bat protection, wildlife in and around the water and a selection of food and drinks. THE SPRING MÄRLITRAM WITH THE BÖÖGG FOR CHILDREN ENDS 26th APRIL: The new Springtime Märlitram is a ride only for kids aged 4 – 9 years in Zurich where the driver is actually the Böögg! It’s only on till 26th April. You can see all the details here.

LAST CHANCE! BREATHE WITH PILATUS ON MOUNT PILATUS ENDS 26th APRIL: Slow down, breathe and reconnect with nature at this unique multisensory art installation high above Lake Lucerne. Created by Swiss designer Annabelle Schneider, BREATHE WITH PILATUS transforms part of Mount Pilatus into a contemplative alpine space where art, sound, scent and technology merge into a deeply immersive experience. ENGLISH-LANGUAGE CHURCH SERVICE IN ZURICH SUNDAY 26th APRIL Once a month, the Reformed Church Zurich hosts a welcoming English-language service rooted in the Swiss Reformed tradition. With prayer, music and an open-minded approach, it offers a meaningful sense of community for newcomers, long-time residents and anyone who feels more at home in English. The next service is on 26th April at Enge Church, with bagels and coffee from 10.00 am and the service starting at 10.30 am. More information here.

THE FORGOTTEN LEGEND OF ZURICH – FROM 1st MAY: A new immersive light installation is coming to Kirche Enge, combining 360° video mapping, aerial choreography and live singing inside one of Zurich’s most striking spaces. Created especially for the city, this unique show brings a mysterious Zurich legend to life as the church walls transform with light, sound and storytelling. SANAPA AM SEE 1ST MAY 2026: On 1st May the first SANAPA am See takes place at the Strandbad Mythenquai. Doors open at 14:00 for a full day by the lake with 3 floors (two electronic, one hip hop), 17 DJs, and food by Hiltl. Around 80% of tickets are already sold, with a limited number of second release tickets still available. SANAPA has been free for many years, but this lakeside edition is ticketed. OPEN WINE CELLAR DAYS 1ST – 3RD MAY 2026: Discover Swiss wine culture at its best as over 200 winegrowers across German-speaking Switzerland open their cellar doors for tastings, tours and local specialities. ZURICH RACE DAY, DIELSDORF 3rd MAY : The racing season kicks off in style with a full day of excitement and elegance.
